Bishop Loveday Pupils “Capture the Spirit of Banbury”

Monday, 15th October 2012

The creative pupils of Bishop Loveday Primary School got to see some of their artwork proudly displayed in Castle Quay Shopping Centre in Banbury this week ready for putting up in the malls in the new year.

Along with pupils from Hardwick Community and St Mary’s Primary Schools, the children took part in a competition to “Capture the Spirit of Banbury” by drawing what they like doing and find fun in and around Banbury. Around 50 drawings were submitted and the winning entries have been made into a series of banners to be hung in Centre.

Castle Quay’s Commercial Manager Paul Jackson is “thrilled” with the results, commenting “The banners look fantastic! The children have clearly put a lot of thought and hard work into their drawings and they will make a fantastic addition to the Centre. We think they will be as pleased with the finished product as we are.”

Bishop Loveday Head teacher Mrs Woodward, comments “The children are very excited to see the final results unveiled in the Centre on Friday. It is going to be a very proud moment for them to see something that they have created displayed to the public.”

Paul Jackson concludes, “We hope our shoppers will appreciate what the children have created. The banners are a testament to the town and everything Banbury has to be proud of – as well as communicating Castle Quay’s commitment to the local community.”
